Raccoon City is always as interesting and exciting to visit. Resident Evil series have become large phenomena for game lovers; the survival game offers more than enough violence and shooting action to put every player at the edge of the seat. Now, CAPCOM and Slant Six bring us back to conduct Operation Raccoon City playing the roles as Umbrella Special Forces. However, the story of the game will not be the continuity of Resident Evil 5 or the upcoming Resident Evil 6. Operation Raccoon City will be somewhere between Resident Evil 2 and 3. Resident Evil was actually not predictably a successful game with the first release, but surprisingly players enjoy the horror action right from the start until the end of the game, completely. There is very little time to take rest along the game play since determined enemies and zombies are always around the corner. Nevertheless, Operation Raccoon City is a proof that this franchise has gone rapidly developing and successful in the market.

Operation Raccoon City is a multiplayer game, which is undoubtedly shocking since the previous series were all handled by a single player. As many multiplayer-based shooting or survival game, limitations are inevitable. Each of the players will never be able to explore as deep as when one does it with one player. Players have to encounter the same game scenes at the same time that somehow limits the ability, points earning, and not impossibly, surviving. Those who have familiar with Resident Evil series before will need something more to keep them playing repeatedly. Perhaps, that is the only downside found; since the interface, action, and the rushing adrenalin are still charming.

Since players are in the Umbrella Security Services, the game offers different perspective of seeing T-virus outbreak. Players have to complete objective in the favor of Umbrella Corporation to hide any problem arises from any experiment conducted before. Another basic multiplayer-based game, each figure has different abilities, all of them are upgradeable as players go walk through the scenes. The developer still maintains some most important aspects of Resident Evil game by delivering appearances of Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield; besides bringing a connection to all the series, developer ensures players that the game they are playing is indeed one of the series of Resident Evil they are familiar. Although the plot is designed to provide different perspective of the origin of Resident Evil, new exciting mythology is given to enhance the excitement.

Operation Raccoon City in the real game play may not be as interesting as promised by the trailers. The game will split the screen in the middle that brings less interest in it, we admit it or not. Single player campaign with first person shooter is always better for any survival game. Another downside is actually there as well; AI is not as good as expected, in fact, it is poor.

To come up with a conclusion, Operation Raccoon City is not great; the game is decent at its best. However, XBOX LIVES may help you overcome this decent gaming experience and turn Operation Raccoon City into once more a real deal survival game.
